Keeping And Preserving A Photo Canvas Print

Because of the fact that you have invested a lot such as energy, money, time, power and love in creating a canvas art, it will be fair for you to be able to keep it preserved over a certain period of time. It will even be more worth it if your photo canvas print can serve as a reminder of the beautiful memories attached to creating that piece of art. Once you have already created that canvas art, you can just follow several tips that can help you in preserving it as long as you can.

The first issue you have to deal with photo canvas print is that the colors have a big chance of fading over the years. The one thing that you have to keep in mind is that keeping them out from direct sunlight will do the colors some good. Instead, try to find a more appropriate place for your canvas where it gets adequate lighting so that other people can enjoy it, but not too much that the colors can get damaged in the long run.

Another aspect that you need to take into consideration to be able to preserve the canvas really well is the material that composes it. You have to know the material of the cloth attached to the wooden frame. Having said this, you also need to know that both wood and fabric react really fast to heat and moisture. Because of this, you have to avoid placing them in areas that are neither too hot nor too cold. For instance, places near ovens, fireplace, bathroom and balconies are not the best locations for your canvases because they can either supply too much sunlight or moisture to your works of art. In a nutshell, the exact location where you place them is really critical because it will not only determine the amount of people who can see it, but it will also determine how long you will be able to keep it displayed in your home.

If on the other hand, you need keep separate all the canvases you’ve got because you are redecorating the interiors of your interior, you also need to use the same rules for the storage area where you will temporarily keep them. The space should not be too hot or too cold, and it should be spacious enough to let a photo canvas print rest comfortably.

When you feel the need to clean all the canvases that you have at home, the best method is still to go about it in a traditional way – this means that you will only clean all the canvases in your home using your feather duster. This is a really highly effective because it allows you to completely reduce all the accrued dust in your paintings without spoiling their overall appearance and texture. On the other hand, you can also just frame your paintings with glass so that it will be preserved excellently and protected from dusts and other external elements.

These are just some of the most basic methods by which you can really protect your photo canvas prints that you have at home.

The Reasons Why You Need Pre-Wedding Photography

What excites the couples the most is saying for better or worse, I do and having some cake at the reception. To make sure everything will be in order on that special day, couples usually plan their wedding months or even years in advance. Preparing tremendously for the big day, everything must be well organized and arranged–the caterer and the church, the gown and the tux, and even the wedding entourage. The pre-wedding photography is usually done before the big day so the couple could have nice photographs they could use for the invitation and have them get to know the photographer more and vise versa.

Couples nowadays have different phyappointments with their photographer for the pre-wedding photogra. There are different types of pre-wedding photography that couples can avail. The save the date shoot, the engagement or pre-nuptial shoot and the test photo shoot at the location consist of these. These all happen before the wedding and provide the couple with photos they can use.

A save the day photo shoot is usually done in order for the couple to have pictures in their save the date video. Asking the guests of the wedding to save a specific date is basically its purpose. This further announces the couple’s plan on getting married, where and what time. It can show the different stages the couple went through before deciding to get married. These photo shoots usually show the fun and quirky side of the couple. It could be shot in the memorable locations for the couple like the place where they first met or where they shared their first kiss.

Once the save the date photo was done the engagement or pre-nuptial photo shoot immediately follows. While some couples opt to do their save the date shoot and engagement shoot separately, some like to do them at the same time. The bride’s engagement ring will be shown in the pre-wedding photography shoot and it’s usually held in a romantic location. It can also be done at a memorable place for the couple like the save the day shoot. The photos from this shoot are usually used in the invitation and the various backdrops at the reception. The couple’s romantic side will manifest in here.

The last pre-wedding shoot isn’t really considered a formal shoot. Photographers like to have a basic knowledge of the location of the wedding before the actual event date. The clients may be asked by the photographer to have a test shoot at the venue in order to know where the lights enter what lensesn to use and what other types of equipments to bring. Few days before the actual wedding, these shoots are being done.

All these pre-wedding photography shoots provides interaction between the photographer and the clients making them more at ease and comfortable with each other. The photographer will have easier time to shoot on the day of the wedding because of this. The information was given by a groom who’s a businessman of alarm systems installing and home theater projector selling.

Destination Weddings And The Wedding Photography

Especially during poor economic times, Destination Weddings become that much more attractive. But you would be remiss if you didn’t make yourself aware of potential pitfalls.

The Positives

- Overall, it is easier on the wallet. Usually, the guests pay their own way, which also gives them a chance for a welcome vacation, especially during the chilly season.

- You’re getting hitched in a magical sopt with stunning landscapes that make the wedding photography even more unforgettable.

- There is a fairytale quality to getting married in a far off place that’s relaxing and lush. It will be different than all the weddings you go to back home.

- The resort generally handles all the details including providing you with a local wedding photographer (more on this ahead).

- By having your wedding far from home in all probability only those folks you really want to come will show up because of the time and monetary requirements. This is a good way to dodge a potentially controversial guest list at a home affair.

Potential Drawbacks

- It might be difficult for a few much loved people to attend due to legitimate bona fide] obstacles (ie) financial, having young children, inability to take a vacation because of work, etc.  Ironically, you may then have a challenging time understanding why a person who is dear to you can’t come – though they may well be justified.

- If you haven’t had the chance to physically visit the island prior to the wedding you may be ticked off when you arrive if things are not as had been promised.  Fortunately, big problems hardly ever materialize. However, it’s essential to have clear communication with the Event Planner to minimize any issues that may arise.

- Many destination weddings occur during the winter. In planning the wedding remember that if the wedding is during the late autumn, winter or early spring, diminishing light will be a factor after approximately 5 o’clock. Consequently, if the ceremony is 3:30 or beyond the post-ceremony pictures may be compromised. The sun will vanish and before you know it it will be dark. The beautiful background will barely be visible and it’ll be like photographing a wedding in Baltimore – which kind of defeats one of the main reasons you’re having a destination wedding (ie) the glorious scenery and the accompanying photos.  Remember, all you have left afterwards is your wedding photography.

- If you decide on a local photographer, firstly, the finished product may well be run of the mill at best. Secondly, not only are you are usually not paying less, sometimes you’re outlaying more than if you brought in your own photographer.  Thirdly, once you return home, if you have any issues with the pictures you might be out of luck. What if they don’t respond to your messages? What if you don’t get your pictures?  That is a nightmare situation. On the other hand, you can hire a photographer from your home town who does destination weddings. In this set-up you actually meet your photographer way ahead of time and possibly even do engagement shots.  In short, you create a connection with the person who is going to be capturing your wedding. Most importantly, God forbid there are any issues, they are easy to track down and you have some recourse.

- Now, there is something you must take note of if you decide to select a destination wedding photography company from your own backyard. Foreign photographers need permits to “officially” work in most destination locales. For the Bahamas, the permit costs $300. Now, your photographer can journey incognito and pretend they are one of your guests. This can be risky.  What if they don’t believe you, especially once they’ve searched your bags and perused all your equipment?  You might be risking not being able to photograph the wedding – which would be disastrous. If your photographer is going to fly under the radar they should bring as little gear as possible to not attract scrutiny. Or, you can play it safe and get the permit.

Consider having a destination wedding. It can be and almost always is a delightful experience. Just be aware of the aforementioned issues that may put a crimp in the plans.

The Ins & Outs Of The Wedding Reception

Wedding Day timing is probably more important for the earlier part of the day which includes the ceremony and wedding photography, so it’s easy to underestimate the significance of time management with respect to the Wedding Reception.

The two central factors in determining a feasible and flowing Reception plan are: (a) Is there a Receiving Line? (b) The timing of the Speeches.

In the absence of a Receiving Line, there should be plenty of time to work with.  Now, some couples put their Receiving Line immediately after the Ceremony (ie) inside the Church.  Here, the time set for the photography, including, Family, Wedding Party and Couple Shots could irretrievably lost if the Receiving Line takes too much time.  Then, depending on the remaining time, the Newlywed’s pictures may be compromised in order for them to make it to the Reception on schedule – and you really don’t want to be stressed out for these important pix.

Back to the Reception.  5:30 is a typical starting time.  Guests begin to arrive.  Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres are consumed.  Dinner is usually served at 7pm.

Let’s assume you start the Receiving Line at 5:30.  When will it end?  Depends on the number of guests.  Most weddings will have approximately 150 guests.  If you and/or your guests are talkative it could easily take until 7:00.  On average, if you calculate half a minute per guest, you’re looking at 75 minutes.  If there are 250 guests or more, there may be issues (ie) Supper starts later, which will affect the quality of the meal.

For the wedding photographer, it’s a non-issue if there is a Receiving Line or not, or how how much time it takes.  Anything and everthing will be photographed.  What is undeniable, though, is that the Receiving Line can be tiring for the Newlyweds – who have recently had their ceremony, and who, in most cases, have just arrived at the Reception Hall from doing their pictures.  After all that, they are expected to stand and welcome people for an extended period of time, with permanent smiles throughout.  By the end of it, most Couples are drained.  At least dinner is right around the corner.

In some cases, not having the Receiving Line is not an option. No doubt, for these folks, because it is simply a normal part of the day, having a Receiving Line may even be enjoyable.  However, if you can, you may like foregoing it.

What are the pluses of avoiding the Receiving Line?  (1) The Bride & Groom can take time to chill out and regroup when they arrive at the Reception Hall.  After freshening up they can hang out with their guests who are arriving and enjoying drinks and hors d’oeuvres – as opposed to spending the entire time rooted to one spot; (2) Being a part of the Cocktail hour with their guests will afford them the opportunity to mingle in a more special way than in the Receiving Line (ie) more creative wedding photography; (3) In absence of the Receiving Line, the Newlyweds can also greet people at their tables between dinner courses.

Next order of business is Speeches.  How many and how long?  Invariably, most say there will be few and they won’t be long.  While that can be true, once the Wedding Day happens it is not uncommon for there to be more Speeches than originally counted on, and you can usually expect one Speech that is surprisingly long.  Bear in mind also that by Speech-time some speakers will have consumed a lot of of alcohol (for some, to quiet the rattled nerves).

So, when should you do the Speeches?  Well, a sit-down dinner that usually takes about 2 hours.  Speeches usually take anywhere from 30-60 minutes.  So, if you set the Speeches after dessert everyone will be stationary for up to 3 hours – possibly longer if dinner and/or speeches take.  That serves to suck the life out of the action before it has even started.  Having the Speeches spaced out throughout dinner works very nicely, concluding with the Bride and Groom speaking when dessert is served.  That way, once dessert is finished, it’s party time.

If Speeches begin after dinner the guests might get impatient and head to the bathroom or outside for air or cigarettes – which can be disruptive and even disheartening.  Also, most Couples have their First Dance at the close of the Speeches.  If the Speeches occur throughout dinner then as the guests are finishing dessert the Newlyweds can say a few, or a lot of, words and then head straight to the dance floor and have their First Dance.  In this case, almost non one will have left the room.  On the other hand, if the Speeches are done after dinner then by the time they finish and it’s time for the First Dance, you may have low attendance on your hands.

By the way, some Couples decide to do their First Dance when they are introduced at the beginning of dinner.  Here, everyone is seated and everyone is focused on them.  One possible drawback is if there are windows in the room it is usually still bright at about 7:00 which may not be as dramatic as being spot-lit in a darkened room.

Take into consideration that by Reception time the Bride and Groom have been up since the wee hours.  A boatload of energy has been expended.  Accordingly, planning a Reception Schedule that flows nicely and isn’t burdensome can contribute immensely to realizing a memorable wedding day.

Canon Powershot SD980 – Great Point And Shoot Camera

Canon’s first foray into touch screen territory comes in the form of the PowerShot SD980 IS. It falls into line style-wise with the current generation of Digital ELPH cameras and it won’t look out of place sitting side-by-side with your iPod and your touch screen smartphone – it’s curvy, boldly colored, and relatively small for a camera housing a 5x optical zoom lens.

Like the Panasonic Lumix FX580, the Canon Powershot SD980 IS keeps all of the physical buttons and offers the touch screen as a kind of supplement in terms of camera operation. The result is more of a hybrid than a total touch screen makeover. There are three major areas where the touch screen will come into play: image review, touch-selected auto focus lock, and shooting mode selection.

It’s a new interface for the PowerShot lineup, but there are plenty of familiar features here as well. The DIGIC 4 processor, optical image stabilizer, and 12.1 megapixel 1/2.3 inch CCD are carried over from previous Digital ELPHs. Slow, steady enhancements to an existing, capable platform have been the trend for Canon in recent years. Does the SD980 follow the same trend, or is it just another pretty interface?

The Canon Powershot SD980 features a 5x optical zoom, starting at an equivalent 24mm for a nice wide angle and extending to 120mm. It’s a reasonably fast lens, with a maximum aperture of f/2.8 at wide angle. Maximum aperture at telephoto is f/5.9. Zoom operation is a little bit noisy, which is perhaps one of the reasons why optical zoom isn’t available in video recording mode.

Barrel distortion cropped up more often than pin cushioning. The vertical lines of the window in the wide angle image below bow outward slightly. In the telephoto picture, there’s not as much evidence of distortion.

The get-up-and-go PowerShot SD980 takes some very nice images right out of the box. Colors are bright, in the traditional vein of Canon’s consumer digitals, and reasonably saturated. The neutral setting, one of the options available under the “My Colors” submenu, will bring saturation down a notch. Adjustments can also be made to color, saturation, and sharpness and saved as a custom setting under the “my colors” submenu.

It should also be noted that though the SD980 boasts 16:9 wide-aspect image capture, you won’t be able to utilize it at the camera’s greatest resolution. The wide images are roughly 9 megapixels.

Our studio images show noise beginning to appear starting at ISO 100, though it’s very faint in the cropped image. ISO 400 displays more distortion, though the thumbnail image still looks fairly good.

What the SD980 IS does best is show off. Flipping through images with a swipe of the LCD or a flick of the wrist is sure to please a small crowd of friends and family. However, no camera is going to inspire any real “wow” factor if the images don’t look as good as the actual interface. The SD980 delivers dependable image quality whether or not you choose to utilize the touch screen.

The PowerShot SD980 won’t compete with Canon’s more advanced compacts, but it’s as good a performer as the popular SD1200. It hits a sweet spot between chic design and reliable performance. In the expanding world of touch screen cameras, the SD980 is as good as any we’ve seen thus far. It doesn’t offer the level of control that Panasonic’s Lumix FX580 does, but manual control is probably not what you’re after if you’re shopping for a touch LCD. If it’s reliable image quality with limited user input that you want, then the PowerShot SD980 is an excellent option.
