Good Bang For My Buck – Panda Antivirus Software Review
Norton even has a special Facebook App so you can be certain that you will not pick up one of those nasty viral things. I give this product 5 stars.
So right now my computer is just a sad black box. I believe this is not a serious software flaw – Norton nor any other software has no business hijacking your computer and taking control away from your ability to stop installation of any program whatsoever. It’s not as configurable as I would like, but is more transparent than Norton and it’s never blue screened my computers (and I’ve had five so far over the years). Finally, Norton simply employs Windows own defragmenter.
For instance, it tells me if a particular program (like Firefox or Explorer) is hogging up an unusual amount of memory. It adds a “reputation” scan to determine the reliability and trustworthiness of your existing programs. With 2009, I returned because the product improved and they actually added usable tech support. Independent tests show it in the top group for its features. This is a terrific deal for protecting 3 computers for one year. I’ve been using Norton Internet Security (NIS) for a long time, it is easy to set up, to use and scan your system.
Would be nice if they rewarded their customer base w/ a discount Product was exactly as described, although mislabeled which the seller explained. It arrived about 2 days after ordering, way sooner than expected. The best buys, in my view, are Norton Internet Security 3-User license, CCleaner (it’s free!), Diskeeper and for backup of files onto a NAS, Memeo Backup Professional. I use Acronis True Image for image backups, but I find it unreliable (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t). People not hindered by lack of bandwidth shouldn’t have any problems downloading the latest virus definitions and program updates. Once installed, the interface is very simple to use and, unlike McAfee, you can easily see the date the latest virus definitions were uploaded. Instead, Symantec prefers to try to gouge its customers. For this software which is currently selling for $37.99 on Amazon, Symantec charges $59.99 for renewal. This version of Norton is much better than previous versions of a few years ago. Run on an old Pentium 4 XP sp2 machine.
I’ve never seen a problem on my computers. It works perfect and silent; you never need to worry if I have to do something. Norton tech support solved that problem but the EMAIL accounts were very difficult to fix and there is one EMAIL account I still cannot access and have abandoned it (I think he changed the secret question). Prior to IS 2009, I had been using McAfee (it was preinstalled and I kept extending it).
Norton IS installed easy and runs very nice in the background without hogging the CPU. I had Kaspersky cleaned it up effortlessly. It prompts me to take some action from time to time. No attacks appear to have taken place.
Activation after the installation was a breeze. Microfilm Scanner.
